First off-leash dog park opens in Circulo Verde Ortigas & Co.

by Jay Palma

In most of Metro Manila’s residential areas, a truly vast and pet-friendly space can be a tough find.
The promise of Ortigas & Co. to offer a green, balanced, and unique living experience to its residents will be fulfilled with the opening of the first off-leash dog facility in Circulo Verde called Hachi Park. The park name takes inspiration from Hachiko, the loyal Akita who patiently waited at the Shibuya station in Japan every day for the arrival of his owner, for nine years after the master died.
Circulo Verde is a 10-hectare residential community situated in Bagumbayan, Quezon City, will have 15 residential towers. The project features 70 percent open space with jogging and biking lanes, areas for lounging, and now, Hachi Park.
“We, at Ortigas & Company, are proud to be the first developer in Metro Manila to introduce an off-leash dog park. And as we do so, we address the evolving needs and wants of our residents,” said Joey Santos, general manager of the Real Estate Division, Ortigas & Co.

Human-friendly dog park
Residents are given more space for their pets as the Hachi Park provides an estimated 365 sqm of open space. Open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., residents can make use of the dog park everyday, where they can play with their canine companions and meet new friends. The off-leash policy will also allow pets to roam inside the area freely, secured by a 1.2 meter-high fence.
Among its dog owner-friendly features include stations, which are equipped with rubbish bins and water vessels. Several benches are also placed in the dog park where users can lounge as they watch over their loyal companions.
Hachi Park opened Feb. 15, where guests joined a fun run with their four-legged best friends, and were treated to a short seminar with the Philippines’ dog whisperer, Lestre Zapanta.

An ideal community
“Circulo Verde is a residential community that is master-planned to work with nature, to use space intelligently, and to create an environment that is suitable for leisure and living. Ortigas prides itself as being one of the country’s long-standing property development companies, whose projects have stood the test of time, of the elements, and of economics. But apart from that, we are very thoughtful developers. Every resident who has a dog is sure to appreciate this play space beyond his unit,” said Santos.
Alongside the launch of Hachi Park is the opening of the Circulo Verde perimeter road, which will eventually be connected to Amang Rodriguez via a steel bridge.
The company would also be launching Circulo Verde’s fifth tower, after the success of Majorca Residences, Ibiza Tower, Seville Residences, and the Lleida Tower.
